Project Description
Townhouse Renovation in Bruges, Belgium.
La Maison Renovations undertook to renovate this protected townhouse in Bruges, Belgium. This 17th century townhouse retained it’s beautiful period exterior facade while the interior spaces designed and finished for modern living.
The townhouse renovation began with only the single front facade elevation standing. We completed a full ground-up rebuild and refurbishment of this period property.
The main architectural feature of this renovation is the kitchen extension with glass walls and hande made oak truss and motorised Velux roof lights. The roof trusses and framework were hand made in the traditional Flemish style by La Maison Renovations. The design and materials were selected to help blend the old with the new.
The refurbishment included a full strip out of all interior walls, ceilings and fixtures. The property was the rewired, underfloor heating installed throughout and intelligent lighting and security system by Bticino.
The house was insulated to a very high standard. Reclaimed bricks and floor tiles were used to restore the period feel, new plumbing, bathrooms and kitchen were installed. The property was then decorated throughout. The exterior facade was also restored and repainted.
The customer was very happy with all the restoration and refurbishment we completed. A truly beautiful property of which we are very proud.
